Wayfarer is a handcrafted, vanilla-friendly survival SMP that blends open-world survival with a structured quest saga and built city life. The server emphasizes emergent player behaviour: a protected, buildable city with law & order sits beside an open wilderness where normal Minecraft rules apply.

🎮 Gameplay

Players follow a five-act quest saga equipped with a journal and on-screen tracker, interact with branching NPC conversations, and earn special tools like the Wayfarer's Compass. The world contains carved dungeons and repeatable boss encounters for coordinated groups, a subway-style metro linking landmarks, and a player-run economy with shops and a Grand Exchange. City plots use a creative build mode so you can design without interfering with the survival frontier.

🪓 Survival

Wayfarer is primarily a survival SMP: gather, explore, build, and fight in an otherwise-unmodified Minecraft world. The server keeps the wilderness open for base-building and exploration while applying selective protection to city areas and major landmarks.

💰 Economy and Progression

• No griefing: protected city areas and logged block changes allow rollbacks.
• No cheating: an anticheat system is enforced.
• PvP is treated as consensual in the city; the wild is PvP-allowed and aggressive actions can make you wanted.
• Community-focused play: players of all ages and platforms are welcome; staff activity is limited to console administration.

🔌 Connection Notes

Runs on Paper for Minecraft 1.21.x and supports both Java and Bedrock clients without mods, special launchers, or forced resource packs. Newer and older Java clients are reported to be able to connect.
