A lot has been happening behind the scenes at Minecraft Servers HQ, and it's finally here. Let's take a tour of what's new!
🎨 A fresh new look
The whole site has a new design: darker by default, easier on the eyes, with lime-green accents for the things that matter (online status, main buttons). Prefer light mode or your system theme? Your choice is always remembered. Everything is built phone-first, so it feels just as good in your pocket as on a big screen.
🏠 Smarter homepage and server catalog
- The homepage is now all about one thing: finding a server quickly. Pick Java or Bedrock and a game mode, or just search by name or address
- The catalog starts with search and results, with all the extra filters tucked in a side panel, with server counts next to each option
- Search finds your server as soon as you type 2 letters
- Can't find anything? You'll get helpful suggestions, and you can add the server yourself right away
- Server cards are cleaner now, with clear names (no more messy MOTD symbols), platform, versions, and a one-tap copy of the address
- Crossplay servers are marked honestly: we only show Java + Bedrock when we've actually confirmed it
📊 Better server pages
- Connection details come first, right at the top
- A new Statistics tab with a heatmap, daily bars and period summaries
- Clear explanations of rank, uptime, latency and peak online, so you know what the numbers mean
- Screenshots (up to 30 per server) in a handy strip
- Server owners can verify ownership with a code in the server's MOTD and edit everything from a dedicated edit page
🧑🤝🧑 Players pages
Every player now has a proper profile: where and when they were last seen, who they play with, their tracked time by week, month, quarter or year, and even their skin in 3D. Server pages show a live ranking of players, and your saved players appear on the homepage when they're online.
💬 Community, finally!
- Feed: a place for posts. Share what's on your mind on your profile or on a server's page
- Comments everywhere: servers, plugins, players and posts, with pictures, link previews, live updates and replies
- Reactions on servers, plugins, players and posts
- Communities: create your own (public or private), invite friends, and set up roles
- Public profiles at /u/nickname
- A notification center for replies, mentions and updates
- Private messages with chat requests and live chat
- Sign in with Google, Microsoft, Apple or Discord
❤️ Health, levels and EXP
Your profile now has hearts, EXP and a level, with a Minecraft-style EXP bar. Actions like commenting, reacting and posting cost a little health, and health slowly regenerates, so the community stays friendly and spam-free. A built-in guide on your profile explains how it all works, what each action costs, and every way to earn EXP (with daily limits). Level up and you'll unlock more, like links and pictures in comments from level 3.
🎒 Inventory: find and collect items!
Here's a little treat for everyone who signs in. While you browse MSHQ, keep your eyes open: every now and then a tiny pixel item will float onto your screen, glowing in the color of its rarity, with a ring around it that slowly runs out. Click it before the time is up and it's yours!
- 48 collectible items, each with its own pixel-art icon, name and a short story (lore)
- Rarer items glow differently, so you'll know when you've found something special ✨
- Some items drop randomly while you explore, others are rewards for things you do on the site. We won't tell you which action. Part of the fun is figuring it out 😉
- A new inventory icon in the header shows a "new" dot when something fresh lands in your collection
- Your inventory lives at /profile/inventory: a neat grid of everything you've found, with a card for every item (on phones it opens as a handy sheet)
- Open the item guide to see the whole collection. Items you've found are marked, and the ones you haven't found yet appear as mysterious silhouettes. How many can you complete?
- All item names and stories are translated into every language
Items are only yours once the site confirms the pickup, so no cheating, just honest collecting. Good luck out there, treasure hunters!
🔌 Plugins
A brand new plugin catalog with categories, sorting, and pages that show the servers using each plugin first.
🏷️ Tags
Missing a tag? Add your own right from the picker.
🎖️ Server banners
Show off your server on your own website with new pixel-art banners (320×64, 560×90 and HTML cards), in several textures and themes. Find them under the Userbar tab.
🌍 23 languages
Every text on the site is now translated into all 23 languages.
🛡️ Safer space
Comments and posts that break the rules can be hidden, and there's a one-time appeal if you think we got it wrong. Keep it friendly, folks!
