About AxRewards

🔌 About AxRewards

AxRewards is a Minecraft plugin that provides a lightweight, configurable rewards system. Server administrators define rewards with arbitrary cooldowns, present them in editable GUIs, and execute claim commands when players claim rewards. The project is maintained by Artillex-Studios and includes database-backed storage and multi-server support.

🎯 Purpose

AxRewards solves the common need for scheduled or repeatable player rewards (for example daily or weekly login rewards) while offering flexible cooldowns, permission locks, and GUI presentation. It's intended for servers that want an integrated, configurable reward system without requiring external caching systems.

⚙️ Features

  • Configurable rewards with arbitrary cooldowns (specified in seconds).
  • Editable GUI menus for presenting rewards; GUI items can show different states (claimable / unclaimable / no-permission).
  • Database storage with support for H2, SQLite, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Multi-server support without requiring Redis.
  • Auto-updating GUI (the GUI refreshes periodically without reopening).
  • Ability to lock rewards behind permissions (each reward can require a permission).
  • Claim actions implemented as a list of server commands (supports %player% placeholder).
  • PlaceholderAPI integration and support for multiple color formats.

🧩 Who It Is For

  • Survival and SMP servers that want daily/weekly/custom claimable rewards.
  • Server operators who need database-backed persistence across restarts or across multiple servers.
  • Admins who prefer GUI-based reward presentation and permission-locked rewards.

🏗️ Example Use Cases

  • Offer a daily login reward that gives items or runs commands when claimed.
  • Provide gated weekly VIP rewards that require a rank permission to claim.
  • Run command-based rewards that grant money, items, or execute custom server commands using %player%.

⚙️ Installation

📥 Setup

  • Download the plugin JAR and place it into your server plugins/ folder for a Bukkit/Spigot/Paper-compatible server.
  • Start or restart the server so the plugin can generate its data folders and configuration.
  • Configuration and menu files are placed under the plugin folder (for example plugins/AxRewards/menus).

📦 Dependencies

  • PlaceholderAPI (optional integration for placeholders) — confirmed support.

🧠 Technical Notes

  • Database backends confirmed: H2, SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
  • The plugin supports PlaceholderAPI and common color formats (including MiniMessage and legacy formats).
  • The GUI refreshes automatically (auto-updating) without needing players to re-open it.
  • Rewards define their cooldown in seconds; setting cooldown to -1 makes a reward never refresh.
  • The project is open-source and licensed under MIT.
  • Confirmed supported server software and topics include Bukkit, Spigot, Paper, and Folia.
  • Confirmed requirement: modern Java runtime (project notes indicate Java 21 or higher for recent releases).

🤝 When This Plugin Is Useful

If you need a configurable, GUI-driven rewards system with persistent storage and cross-server support, AxRewards provides editable menus, cooldown handling, and command-based claim actions while integrating with PlaceholderAPI and common databases.
