🔌 About Nexo

Nexo is a Minecraft plugin that lets server administrators and developers add custom items, blocks, armor, furniture, and related mechanics using file-based configuration. Nexo automatically generates, merges, obfuscates, and dispatches a Resource Pack so players receive custom models and textures without manual client-side installs.

🎯 Purpose

Nexo targets server customization and content pipelines: it reduces the effort required to ship custom models/textures and to expose those assets to gameplay through mechanics, interactive blocks, and scripted behaviors. It is intended for server owners who need custom cosmetic and gameplay content and for developers building addons or integrations.

⚙️ Features

  • Custom items, blocks, armor, and furniture defined via configuration files.
  • Automated Resource Pack generation, merging of external packs, and obfuscation options.
  • Click-based interactive blocks (clickAction mechanic) and custom block behaviors.
  • Plugin converters to migrate content from Oraxen and ItemsAdder.
  • Glyphs and font-based emotes/ranks for chat and GUI textures.
  • Developer API for creating custom mechanics and integrations.
  • Official and community addons (examples: NexoAddon for mechanics, NexoProxy for proxy support, NCI client-side integration).
  • Integrations with external plugins such as PlaceholderAPI for placeholders and tag support.

🧩 Who It Is For

  • Survival and SMP servers that want custom visual/content additions.
  • Servers that require automated resource-pack handling and merging.
  • Server developers creating addons or custom mechanics using a plugin API.
  • Networks using a proxy where NexoProxy can help coordinate resource-pack/glyph handling.

🏗️ Example Use Cases

  • Create a set of custom armor and weapons with unique models and have them distributed automatically to all players.
  • Add decorative furniture and interactive blocks that trigger custom behaviors when clicked.
  • Migrate an existing Oraxen or ItemsAdder configuration into Nexo using the provided converters.
  • Use the API or addons to generate world populators that place custom ores and decorations.

🧾 Installation

📥 Setup

  • Download the official Nexo plugin artifact and place the JAR into your server plugins/ directory for a Paper or Folia server.
  • Restart the server and check the server console to confirm the plugin loaded.

📦 Dependencies

  • PlaceholderAPI — integration available for use with placeholders (optional).

🧾 Configuration

  • Nexo uses file-based configuration (items, resourcepack, glyphs, mechanics).
  • Resource pack settings and obfuscation options are configurable; external resource packs can be placed in a configured external_packs folder to be merged.
  • Some mechanics expose settings in mechanics.yml (for example furniture anti-cheat compatibility).

🧠 Technical Notes

  • Nexo has been tested on Paper and Folia and documents explicit version support; the project advertises compatibility from Minecraft 1.21.1 and up as supported on those platforms.
  • The project provides a developer API and compile-time artifact to integrate with other plugins or to build addons.
  • Official addons include NexoAddon (gameplay mechanics), NexoProxy (Velocity proxy helper for resource-packs and glyph handling), and client-side companions such as NCI (Fabric mod for creative inventory integration).

🤝 When This Plugin Is Useful

If you need a single system to manage custom models, textures, and gameplay mechanics while automating resource-pack production and delivery on modern Paper/Folia servers, Nexo provides a configurable solution with an API and addon ecosystem.

Servers with Nexo

The Nexo plugin page shows which servers monitoring found this plugin on, and which platforms and versions it appears with.

Plugins may add commands, economy, protection, permissions, mini-games, integrations, or other mechanics. The actual role of Nexo depends on each server's configuration.

Data is generated automatically from technical server responses. If a server hides its plugin list, it may not appear in this section even if it uses Nexo.

Use the server list with Nexo to compare projects, check compatible versions, or find examples of how the plugin is used on public servers.
