About WorldGuardExtraFlagsPlus

🔌 About WorldGuard ExtraFlags Plus

WorldGuard ExtraFlags Plus is an extension for the WorldGuard plugin that provides additional region flags and behaviors. It expands WorldGuard's region system with more than 40 confirmed flags to control item usage, teleportation, entry limits, crafting, player collision, villager trading, and other region-specific rules.

🎯 Purpose

The plugin fills gaps in WorldGuard's built-in flags by offering fine-grained control over player actions and region policies. It is intended for server administrators who need region-level customization beyond core WorldGuard, for example to build protected PvP arenas, lobbies, hub behavior, or restricted gameplay zones.

⚙️ Features

  • Adds 40+ extra flags (teleport-on-entry/exit, command-on-entry/exit, console-command-on-entry/exit, walk-speed, fly-speed, keep-inventory, keep-exp).
  • New plus-specific flags: disable-completely, disable-throw, entry-min-level, entry-max-level, player-count-limit, villager-trade, lightning-damage, disable-collision, inventory-craft, permit-workbenches, deny-item-drops, deny-item-pickup, allow-block-place, deny-block-place, allow-block-break, deny-block-break.
  • Customizable messages stored in messages-wgefp.yml (message cooldown to prevent spam).
  • Optional integration hooks: PlaceholderAPI support for numeric placeholders, optional PacketEvents or ProtocolLib packet hooks to improve blocking coverage for certain items/attacks.
  • EssentialsX interaction: godmode and fly flag enhancements disable EssentialsX godmode/fly when those flags are denied.
  • Folia support and async-safe handlers where applicable.
  • Update checker and an experimental hide-players flag and chambered-enderpearl experimental behavior.
  • console-command-repeat flag to run a console command repeatedly while a player stays in a region (disabled by default).

🧩 Who It Is For

  • Server owners and admins running WorldGuard who need more precise region controls.
  • Survival, SMP, hub/lobby, and PvP servers that require region-based behavior customisation.
  • Servers using Paper or Folia where async or fork-specific support is required.

🏗️ Example Use Cases

  • Limit the number of players in an arena region with player-count-limit.
  • Block use and throwing of specific items (mace, trident, ender pearls) inside event zones using disable-completely and disable-throw.
  • Prevent inventory (2x2) crafting inside safe zones with inventory-craft or block workbench use with permit-workbenches.
  • Restrict region entry by player XP level or a numeric PlaceholderAPI value using entry-min-level / entry-max-level.
  • Run a console command repeatedly while players remain inside a region using console-command-repeat.

⚙️ Installation

📥 Setup

  • Download the official JAR and place it into your server plugins/ directory alongside WorldGuard.
  • If upgrading from the older WorldGuardExtraFlags: remove the old WorldGuardExtraFlags.jar before starting — the two cannot coexist.
  • Restart the server and check the server console to confirm the plugin and its flags loaded correctly.

📦 Dependencies

  • Required: WorldGuard (this project is an extension for WorldGuard).
  • Optional / Integrations: PlaceholderAPI (numeric placeholder support), PacketEvents or ProtocolLib (improved packet-based blocking), EssentialsX (integration for godmode/fly behavior).

🧾 Configuration

  • Plugin messages are stored in plugins/WorldGuard/messages-wgefp.yml and are fully customizable; there is a message cooldown system configurable via the plugin config.

🧠 Technical Notes

  • The project declares api-version: 1.21 and targets modern Paper API artifacts; Folia compatibility is implemented and confirmed.
  • Java bytecode and API targeting align with recent 1.21-era server environments.
  • The plugin replaces the older permit-completely behavior with disable-completely for broader item blocking semantics.
  • Some features (for example complete blocking of certain spear lunge mechanics) are more reliable when PacketEvents or ProtocolLib are present.
  • The plugin exposes many flags via standard WorldGuard flag commands (flags are set using WorldGuard's region flag interface).

🤝 When This Plugin Is Useful

If you run WorldGuard and need additional, confirmed region flags to control item usage, player entry rules, crafting, and other per-region behaviors — especially on Paper or Folia servers — WorldGuard ExtraFlags Plus centralizes those capabilities within WorldGuard's flag system without needing separate region-management plugins.
