Hi everyone! A few updates went live on MSHQ. Here is what changed and how it works.
Vote for your favorite servers
Every server with voting turned on now has a vote page. You type a Minecraft nickname, pass a quick security check and vote. No account needed.
- One vote per nickname per server every 24 hours.
- A vote counts only after the server's own plugin confirms it, so what you see is what the server received.
- The server page shows votes for today, the last 7 days, the last 30 days and all time, plus the top voters. You can switch the top list between 24 hours, 30 days and all time.
- Rewards, if a server has any, are given by the server itself, not by MSHQ.
Votes and the rating
Votes from the last 24 hours now add to a server's place in the MSHQ list, by up to 30%. A fresher vote counts more, the effect fades over the day, and a server that is offline gets nothing from it. The rest of the rating still comes from automatic checks. More in the FAQ: https://minecraftservershq.com/faq#rating
For server owners
In the manage page there is a new Voting section. Install the NuVotifier plugin (version 2) on your server, copy the host, port and token, press Test connection and switch voting on. The page also gives you a link to your vote page that you can share on your site or Discord.
Your servers, faster
- Add a server while signed in and it is yours right away, and it is saved to your favorites automatically.
- Your servers have a new place in the menu: Owned servers.
- If you add a server that MSHQ already monitors, you will get a short reminder: ownership of those is confirmed with a code in the server's MOTD.
- On the homepage, the block with your saved servers is now called Favorite servers and shows the newest ones first.
Privacy, in plain words
When you vote, your IP address is passed on to the server you vote for, together with your nickname, and Cloudflare Turnstile checks the vote. MSHQ does not store the IP of a vote. The details are in the Privacy Policy: https://minecraftservershq.com/privacy-policy
Tell me what you think, and what you would like to see next. Happy voting!
